Dear Cutler Elementary School Parents and Community,
As principal of Cutler Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2020-2021 School Year! We have missed you all so much! Although this school year may look a little different as we start the school year with distance learning, our priority and focus remain the same. The pandemic has left us all wondering about a new normal, including what school will look like this fall. Rest assured, the district is working with state guidance to consider when and how we safely bring students back, including addressing not just academic, but social, emotional and physical safety needs remotely or at school.
We’ll also be creating some special opportunities to welcome you and your student, while keeping safety priority number one. These communications will be sent via US Post Office, phone calls, text message, and or via email. If you changed your phone number or moved during the summer, please communicate that by calling the school as soon as possible at (559) 528-6931. Also, if you don’t have an email address I encourage you to consider opening one. Email communication with school staff is a common and very helpful practice, and we look forward to using this form of communication with families. The year begins with a few changes to our staff assignments. These changes include: Enedina Leon – Dual Immersion Kinder Teacher, Mayela Macias & Leanna Rodriguez – Dual Immersion 2nd Grade Teachers, Denise Vanderwall – 3rd Grade Teacher, Miracle Gonzalez – Academic Coach/2nd Grade Teacher, Amanda Hiyama & Christina Gonzalez – Academic Coaches/5th Grade Teachers, Corine Lester– Speech Pathologist, and Catalina Quezada – School Psychologist. Additionally, we encourage you to become active in our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is a wonderful way for you to share ideas and support our school mission. Our PTA will continue to hold meetings via ZOOM bi-monthly. Another way to get involved is by participating in our parent committees such as School Site Council (SSC) and English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC). These meetings will also be held via Zoom. You can also stay connected by joining our school Remind App by sending the following text @ccfb3b to 81010. This will allow you to receive text messages about school information and events. Please make sure to join your child’s ClassDojo and follow our Cutler Elementary School Facebook page. For links to Zoom meetings and a complete calendar of upcoming school events, visit our School website: http://cut.cojusd.org/. We will also make Zoom meeting links available on ClassDojo.
Please make sure to update the enclosed demographic sheet and packet of forms. Please sign and return them to school on the day of your orientation. It is extremely important that we have updated emergency contact information for your child. If you have any questions or need help filling out the form, please call us at 559-528-6931.
